Yesterday, we went to the bridal studio to check out the re-edited photos. Previously, we had made a trip down. We were not satisfied with 3 photos. Thus, changes have been made since then and it was time to see the re-edited version.

Our appointment was 7pm and we arrived promptly. However, there was another couple inside the computer room where the photographers edited the photos using Adobe Photoshop. We were told to wait outside the room and were told that it won’t take long, maybe 5 – 10 minutes.

We waited and waited….10 minutes went pass…another 10 minutes went passed. I looked at my watch, it was already 7.25pm. Luckily, there was a TV at the waiting area and we were able to keep oursleves occupied.

Not long later, it was 7.30pm. I think we had waited long enough. Half-an-hour past our appointment time. Even the most patient person needs to know why there was such a long delay.

I knocked at the door and went in.

My Big day is drawing near…so much feelings inside me. Looking back at how much we had prepared, we felt a sign of relief that we had done most of the things we need to do.

What are the other feelings do we have? I’m quite doubtful things will go well on that day. What do I meant by that? I’m talking about culture clash.

My fiancee is from Hong Kong and we do have friends and relatives from Hong Kong. In Singapore’s context, we practice what Singaporean practice. Hong Kong’s wedding custom is high complex, detailed and traditional. There must be exact timings to do certain things such as entering the door, going out of the house and so on. These are minor details.

I’m talking much on how people from Hong Kong will perceive. It will be a culture shock!!!

I am feeling a mixture of feelings. Anxious, excited, uneasy, in high spirit, low, on cloud nine…confused?

It is really tough for me to juggle more than 3 major things in mind while planning and coordinating my wedding. I’m so glad that my course is coming to an end soon, but here come my reservist for 3 weeks.

I’m truly grateful to people around me and they have offered help and support. I’m thankful that most of the things have been done.
Tomorrow, my mom will be bringing my fiancee to buy jewellery. In Chinese custom, the mother-in-law of the fiancee has to buy her a gift. My fiancee is a decent girl with good upbringing. She has offered to treat my mom and aunty lunch at a japanese restaurant.

At night, we will be going to see the edited wedding photos at the bridal studio. Plus, one of my groomsmen will be trying his coat which will be worn?during my wedding dinner.

Today it is back to work. Yesterday had been a fruitful expedition to buy wedding accessories and necessities.

In the morning, we paid respect to my father and my fiancee’s grandma. These are hard and happy times for us as we remembered the people who love us alot and yet, they couldn’t possibly attend our wedding. They can only look from heaven and give us our blessings. Or they can appear as angels in our dreams and guide us along. Or they may appear as a stranger and become our guardian angels, even for a moment, to make sure we are safe.

Yesterday, we celebrated that I handed all my assignments, projects and term paper. Could you imagine you are working full-time, studying half-time, preparing your wedding, and at the same time trying to adjust change of life-stages from a boy in the mom’s eyes, a boyfriend in my girl friend’se eyes, a single man and the little boy in my own’s eyes to still a boy in my mom’s eyes, a husband in my wife’s eyes and a responsible and committed husband to my wife in my own eyes?
