About Jhong Ren
A Very Short Summary of “My Wedding Blog”:
“My Wedding Blog” is started by the Groom, Jhong Ren (aka JR or John) after seeing many friends needing relationship advice while planning wedding.
Not to mention about the hair-pulling experience & communication breakdown some couples have, which pulled them further apart from each other and at the same time away from their weddings.
We want to share with you common relationship stressors & issues among soon-to-wed and newly wed couples so that your marriage is going to the smoothest and happiest one!
My Wedding Blog highlights:
- 1. Wedding Day Problems
- 2. Wedding Planning Stress
- 3. Relationship Problem Advice
- 4. Wedding Planning Tips
- which you can use even after your wedding
So in short, this blog is to help make your wedding & life-after-wedding work!

Our Mission is to reach out to as many wedding couples as possible, possibly a 1,000,000 to help them make their marriages work.
(Sad to say, some marriages don’t really work well after their weddings or some didn’t even make it to the wedding aisle.)
And that is what my blog aims to do…to make newly-wed couples’ marriages work.
How?
One of the ways is to make sure their weddings are as smooth as possible and I can only do this by providing invaluable quality wedding planning tips in my blog.
“My Wedding Blog” has a wedding site with info on wedding planning and relationship advice for couples throughout their wedding planning journey. (You can view the Categories on the top bar of the blog.)
Since I’m born in Singapore, this blog naturaly has LOTS more info on preparation on Singapore’s Wedding…but again, I do my best to do research on other Asian and other continents wedding so that my post can cater to oversea brides … and here are what the brides say about me - with Brides’ Testimonials.

My Bio
I graduated from Mechanical And Production Engineering in NTU and I specialised in aeronautical engineering. However, I prefer to follow my calling and started working in social work, reaching out to single-parent families who need help.
I am an avid voracious reader in all fields ranging from relationship to psychology to self-improvement. I read an average of 300 pages in about 24 hours. (and because of my readers, I have been blazing through hundreds of wedding-related books, magazines, articles, sites, blogs…and even advertisements…Yes, I do read ads to see what they are offering so I can share with you.)
I started “My Wedding Blog” after seeing many friends and acquaintances go through many of the same relationship frustrations (even while planning their wedding.) And I aim to reduce Singapore’s divorce rate by at least 33% by 2010. (I don’t know how I am going to do it and maybe this wedding blog of mine does help in some way.)
