Planning wedding is a stressful period of time.

If you are planning your wedding now, I’m sure you may agree with me to a certain extent.

There could be may sources of stresses.

For me, money is definitely one great stressor.

Unless someone is sponsoring my wedding, money is always an issue and still is now.

Next stressor could be from mother-in-law…Haha…many married men will raise up both hands and legs to agree with me.

There is one person who men can never offend…and you know who I am referring to.

There are many instances I disgree with what my mother-in-law said…but it is forever so hard to say “No, I disagree.”

You try doing that and your married life will never be a peaceful one.

There are always topics for disagreement…Family practices…furniture design…bridal gown designs…wedding photos…

You name it…I can say “You got it.”

I think such challenges are normal for many married couples.

I just had a call from a friend who said that she just couldn’t stand her mother-in-law. The on-going battle had been going on for a few years.

One Big Worry for Guys

I’m not really sure about how other men feel,

but one big worry for men is whether he can bring the bread and butter home every day.

(This money problem will only go away if money grow on trees.)

There is alot of times when I look around me…some of my friends who managed to get high-paid jobs can manage to leave the problem of financial insecurity aside.

For me, I don’t think I can.

My pay is not of high range and when I work out my expenditure for every month, it leaves very little for savings.

Some of my mentors told me that a man can never really be financially free if he works for others.

I take their words for it as they are making tens of thousands per week!!!

Wedding Bells…has stopped ringing

My friend’s mother had passed away…

Another human had left this world and moved on the next…

From religion’s point of view, God had taken her…

At the moment, I had no idea what to blog about.

The news came this morning and I could still feel the uneasiness inside me.

I’m also not sure how my friend is feeling now…

When I start to think about my age (I’m about 27 this year), there is also fear in me when I start to see people around me aging and some leaving.

When we are at our age, we are scaling the corporate ladder, building our families, bringing up our children…

many times when we see younger children, they somehow make us remember how we were like when we were their age.

And now, some of us are married, others will soon get married…

time had passed so fast and we are all grown-ups now…

What if we imagine right now, our children in their thirties…how old will we be?

Lets add another 30 to our age and we will be 60 plus.

Oh my!!! It is really scary to the certain extent to think of ourselves having travelled most of our life journey.

Then, we may see our own children getting married…or even see our first grandchild…Hmmmm…quite a scene to look forward to…and by that time, the little baby in our arms may remind us of ourselves when we were babies…60 years ago…

Wedding Planning…Can Be Stressful…worldwide

As Featured On Ezine Articles

Lately, I realise from other foreign wedding blogs that it is a worldwide trend that the wedding couple is stressful during the planning period…

According to my opinion and my experience, these are the 2 categories that I have found out.

Common concerns for bride:
1. Wondering if they have made the right choice?
2. Coping with the parents (especially the mother’s expectation)
3. Coping with the stress that comes from work and planning the wedding
4. Concern of their weight and facial look
5. Concern with new adaptation to the new family

Common concerns for groom:
1. Money
2. Coping with the stress that comes from work and planning the wedding
3. Concern about relationship between wife-to-be and mother

From my planning wedding experience, thes concerns are unique to each of us because we are all unique.

Sometimes, depending on couples, some are able to cope alone. Other couples cope as a pair.

My experience was I do cope alone because I have the habit of solving problems myself and I try not to let it affect my family, including my wife.

Sometimes, such way of coping is not good and this is what I find out in the end.

I believe that couple should be able to confide in each other, sharing the burden of the problems.

Marriage Starts from Small Step

Many friends around me are mostly working adults and they are dog-tired after each day of work.

Many times, it was really hard to put aside a day to spend with your spouse.

Sometimes, plan might have been laid out on a Friday night so that you and your spouse can spend some good time together to catch up and unwind.

Unexpectedly, your boss asked you to stay back because of a big project. There goes for more over-time and less time with your dear one.

Work, work, work…

we all know work is endless…

but time with our love one is not limitless…

If we keep on pushing back what we have always wanted to do with our spouses…say going for a movie, travelling to some countries or joining a course together…we are going to meet with more disappointment because “our next time” will be replaced with future work and tasks…
