These photos are taken at my cousin’s wedding. And the bride has become my cousin-in-law…and the smiling aunty is my aunty.

Coincidentally, my cousin and I engaged the same photographer, Ant who happened to move to set up another company called anyevy.com

(I think my cousin’s assignment is the last one Ant took. So that he can rush out our photos..what dedicated photographer!!! We waited for 1 month plus la….which is a decent period.)

Confusing, isn’t it? Both are named Ant except one ends with Ant”z”. Hehehe…many of friends had asked me so which will I recommend. I say follow where the photographer goes to.

Ant used to be from “Let There Be Light” and this is their website web site . Happy viewing!!!

Finally Found My Wedding Photographer

a great relief!!! After my fiancee has sourced for at least 4 photographers, we have finally sticked to me and booked him for our wedding day.??How it all started is my fiancee got her first contact from a friend and though the first photgrapher she had contacted was booked, she asked for a referral.?

Then, she will contact the second one and tell him she was referred. Hmmm…maybe got discount if we tell him we are referred.

My fiancee cold-called 4 to 5 photographers and went to see 4 of them. Actially, we are supposed to see 2 today and 1 tomorrow, we cancelled them because we have made up our mind.

The credit of finding all these photgraphers all goes to her and I want to thank her for the effort.

Generally, all photographers have different styles of photography. Some preferred the more traditional type – you look at the camera and I shoot. The conventional type is the photographer shoots from far and you are not aware you are bing shot at. The term we used here is “capturing of the moment”. Next moment, it will be gone. Get it?

Many times, when we are going to take a photo of someone, we called out to him and say “look here” What happens next? A moment ago he was smiling happily. The next moment, he grew conscious of himself and the smile looks faker. The most natural smile is the beautiful one.

I choose my photgrapher because he is humble and he is very frank. I like his openess to give his customers feedback on how to take photographs and even to organise a wedding such that the couples, not the guests. enjoy. Hmmm…wondering if I can say his name out…but hhmmmm..free publicity ah…especially this blog is viewed by about 100 readers per day.

Anyway, this is his company “Let There Be Light.” I feel good photographers should be acknowledged for their work. A photograph is an art work and if it is alive, it can tell a story.

Here are his company’s work. (hope they don’t sue me for putting up their work in my blog. Like what I said, i will say it again. Great photos must share and hmmm..maybe this publicity can bring them more business…disclaimer: i got no commission or whatever benefits from them for putting their photos and link here.)

First meet-up with wedding photographer

Today, my fiancee had made an appointment with the photographer. What we were looking for for the first meet-up is the “clique” and “chemistry”.
This photographer is very humble and has not much of experience. He is more on the quiet side. We would want to have someone who is a joker and got good PR skill because he will be the one making everybody feel comfortable around him and then, his photos will be nice. Can you imagine our guests and us feeling uptight to have our photos taken?

Eileen and Steven when they had their ROM last year (2005) in Sept

As for me, having been an amaeteur photographer for the past 2o years, I am more demanding when it comes to photography.
My photographer needs to be proactive to capture moments. It could be a smile on someone’s face or a crowd laughing at a corner of the house. Each photo must be able to tell a story. It is not easy to reach that kind of level as the photographer must always be moving around and have “sixth sense” to be prepared for the right moment and click the camera.
Meanwhile, I think we will have to carry on our search for our photographer. Gambatte!!!

Hunt for Videographer and Photographer

100-0006_img.jpg?
Freelance photographers charge alot for their one day wedding photo-taking at least S$1000, not inclusive of video-taking and the montage. It will take up to another S$1000. Total: $2,000!!!
Oh my gosh!!!
Recently, a friend asks me how much do I have to actually spent for my wedding. She asked me is S$10, 000 enough?
My eyes almost popped out. I think another S$5,000 could just suffice for a simple wedding.
Now, let’s go through the expenditure (all these are estimations for easy calculations): S$4,000 for bridal package (some couples topped up to $10,000 just to print for photos for their albums), $5000 for bedroom renovation, $15,000 for house renovation, $2,000 for photo/video graphers, $3,000 deposit for hotels, (for 25 tables) $20,000 at $800 per table, $2,000 for wedding band, $4,000 for honey moon and another $5,000 standby for other important things which I’m not sure how much is it yet.
Would you want to take out your calculator and add up the sum? “Submit your answer”:p
Today, my fiancee will be meeting up with some freelance photographers recommended by her friends. One advice told to us is we must feel really comfortable working with him because he will be taking our photos. No chemistry equals to no good pictures!!! So…lets hope that we will get a good one soon!!!
