Many people have talked about wedding planning. Some people get so fascinated when talking about it while others just refused to talk it about it.

What is it really about?

Is it simply just planning your wedding or is it in fact management of people in the wedding planning process?

In fact, both are correct in the sense that it involves both tasks: the wedding planning tasks as well as the people in them.

Sometimes, I just hope that there is this perfect wedding planning kit that teaches us all about planning our own wedding.

Now that you’ve recovered from the delightful shock of your engagement, take a deep breathe.

This wedding of yours must be your first time (of course this is your first time! What am I saying?) and it is fine to get confused and overwhelmed by what to do.

1) Budget – One of the biggest mistakes that brides’ make is not setting a budget. And it is one of the major causes how most couples end up in debts after their weddings.

If not controlled, costs can easily spiral out of control, and if you don’t document them, you may end up paying far more for your wedding than you planned. You should work out with your fiance the maximum amount that both of you are able to spend.

Without an amount set, you realise it is so easy to spend way beyond your budget. You do not want to spend your honeymoon worrying about how to go about paying your debts. So set the intial stage right to budget plan wedding.

“Hi JR,

We just had our meeting of our parents on 8th November. I’m not very happy with my mother and my fiance’s mother as both of them kept repeating that we, the youngsters seem not to have our own point of view and are not specific enough in the wedding arrangement we want to make for ourselves. Thus his mother kept saying that I, as the bride, seem not to know what to prepare for our own wedding. This makes me feel very upset. I also feel that it seem that they are not interested in our wedding. It made me regret agreeing to get married in the first place.

The other problem I am facing right now is that my wedding will be on 23 November 2008 and I have not prepared anything yet, and I do not know where to start preparing. 🙁 I’m going crazy soon!!

I am currently at the stage of planning my wedding for next year .. toughest aspect is to decide the exact date and to agree on what exactly do we want for our wedding. My fiance is really busy and seems like I have to be the one doing most of the work … I want a simple garden wedding reception while his parents expect a grand wedding dinner with really good food and I just feel overwhelmed and unsupported with the responsibility…..currently at the stage of feeling stressed and afraid that I might become a bridezilla …
