Steven & Eileen’s wedding

It is 12.30am and I manage to see my buddy, Steven online. Managed to get some of his recent wedding photos so that I can post it online. Steven and Eileen and my fiancee and I used to be group project mates. In fact, we were in the same group for 2 years.???

We would like to thank them for inviting us to their wedding dinner and we were extremely delighted to see them get married. Once again, thank this couple for willing to allow me to post their wedding shots on my blog. Wow! extremely excited!!! Thanks alot!!!

A photo shot of the couples in traditional costumes is a must…

They certainly Look very loving!!!

Hmmm..I’m not sure if I did my best to give the photos the best description. I could have given better ones. Hmmm….time to buck up my English…But I’m sure the photos speak for themselves. And can give my readers who have yet go for their photo shoot, a clearer idea how it is like. It is going to be tiring too, and may numbed the mouth after smiling for the whole day…but it is certainly worth it…:D

Example of Bridal Studio Package

Just to share with you what the bridal studios’ packages consist of, these are some scanned copies. Different contracts will differ; largely dependant on the bargaining power of the couples as well as flexibility of the sales person attending to the couples. (and also what is the power of the sales person (a normal sales coordinator vs a manager vs the boss)? Can he/ she make the decision to give you a better deal?)

Wedding-planning schedule

Some of my readers ask me about the sequence of planning my wedding. Instead of replying each via email, I think it is better to share with all my readers. Different couples have different preference. So, it is really up to you to schedule what you need to do each month. Just make sure you have booked your wedding venue, arrange for photo shoot and look into renovation. These will be the more major ones which will take more time.

Below is a picture I found on the net. Quite interesting. I feel it would be better if they can walk hand in hand, supporting each other all the way. 😀

First site to go: SingaporeBrides.com

It is totally normal to be clueless, 100% clueless of where to start to find the info that you want. Don’t be afraid or shy to ask around. You never know who has what info. Piecing all these information can be a jig saw puzzle of resources. As for me, I just ask anyone who I know had gotten married or getting married.
My NUS friend, Gladys was very helpful. I still remembered she recommended a few sites to look at. One of them is singaporebrides.com. It is a very informative web site with information on ROM, hotels, banquets, photography services, home and deco and the latest gossips about poor service provided by some of the hotel liaison people.
If you are to look at the hotel web sites, you will only be seeing the best side through tinted glasses. Most of the undisclosed information were found in the forum. It requires patience to follow the forums that were shared by all the brides and bridegroom-to-be. I hope to summarise my own experience after spending 7 consecutive nights of browsing through the forums. Some couples who had unpleasant experiences also did share their stories.
Do take a look at the web site. It will be very useful to start you off.

Our hunt for our preferred hotel

After spending the whole of a week looking through the forum in singaporebrides.com, we have short listed a few hotels that we like. Initially, we wanted a lunch buffet by the pool. The only hotel with good feedback and rating is Mercury Roxy Hotel. But my friends advised me of choosing indoor because of unpredictable weather in December. I can’t risk the weather for spoiling my BIG DAY!!!
The other hotel we went to was also a promising hotel by the riverfront. We were supposed to meet the coordinator on Sunday in the evening. When we went there, no one attended to us. We called the sales coordinator nut no one picked up the phone. We waited for 1 hour and yet couldn’t contact her. We were unhappy. 5 minutes later, the coordinator contacted us telling us she was on MC. Oh my!!! She explained she had asked another colleague of hers to attend to us. But the other colleague didn’t contact us. We also heard that the other colleague couldn’t find us at the lobby. She could have called us but she didn’t. What a lame excuse. The unwell coordinator was very apologetic and offered to buy us dinner so we could fix another appointment. We accepted not because of the free dinner but we really like the hotel.
It was our first visit to the a hotel and I could say we had an experience that brought us a mixture of feelings. 😕
