Wedding Planning Gone Awfully Off…No Time

I got an email enquiry on this:
“Hi JR, I’m getting married in 3 months, I have difficulty coordinating my time, too busy.”

It seemed to me that there is alot to be done about time management.

wedding blog time

Wedding planning is a big project. Just like any project, there is a need to have a diary to jot down the things to be done and the dateline. PLUS who is to do it.

Many times, the bride or groom’s names filled in the “who” column and that is why they are completely drained even if their wedding is a few months away.

I can also empathise that the bride and groom could be really busy with their work, especially when their wedding could be just before the busiest period of the year.

Many times, I asked how did these people managed it. Thye just replied that they won’t care so much and applied leave to plan thier biggest project of their lifetime.

I know you may asking “what will their employers or supervisors think?” These ladies just say “Can’t be bothered.”

As for me, I was doing my part-time Graduate Diploma in NUS, working and planning my wedding. I almost went crazy last year…so much frustration and fatigue…

My wife at that time was very busy too with work.

I believe that what pulled us through was how we compliment each other, how we support each other and how we understand each other.

She was very busy too and I did most of the reasearch of hotels and bridal studios.

She helped out by looking for our photographers.

I did the first contact with the hotels and the bridal studios.

She found out more about where to purchase wedding stuffs and note down everything in her big scrapbook cum diary.

When I had to sit for my exam (5 days just before my wedding), she took over all the follow-ups and left me to study for my exam peacefully.

We had times of scuffles when we felt not supported enough. But we settled the misunderstanding on the very same day and move on the next day.

I think this made the difference: how couples settle their differences?

HELP!!! : Where can she hold her ROM (outside ROM) at 3pm?

A bride emailed me that she needs help…and that is the purpose of my wedding blog. I also need help from readers like you.

She needs to find a place to hold her ROM (outside the Registry of Office) at 3pm. Venue must be able to host around 20 guests at affordable rates.

Wondering if you know of any place in Singapore that allows that?

Hi Valerie,

I can sense that you have many questions to ask. Lets me answer you one by one.

This is the link to my wedding pictures…”My Wedding Snapshots” (You may want to view each post separately as the simultaneous running of all slideshows may slow down your computer.)

As for Holiday Inn Park View, you can download 2006 packages from here.

Easy to negoitiate perks or not…hmmm…you can read these few posts and then you decide for yourself. The BIG Surprise HIPV gave us, How we squeezed HIPV dry

As for Seletar Broadway, you can click here to see our wedding photos .

The service is generally fine (not sure is it because they know that the boss knows me.) Overall, their service is prompt and they call everytime one day before the appointment. As for my photographer.

This was what happened during our phootshot at Seletar Broadway.

As for my Actual Day Photographer, he is Ant and you can see his website www.antevy.com (He left “Let There Be Light and set up “Ant Evy”.)

My only comment for him is “under promise; over deliver” >.< You can read more about him here Post 1, Post 2 & Post 3.

Wedding Email Enquiry from Sheelen

I want to share the following email with the response with all fo you so that we can all benefit from the reply I gave o her. I know at this point in time, many readers are submitting thier complaints and frustration through this.

I got this email enquiry from Sheelen

“Hi Jhong Ren,

I am a Dec’07 bride. Am currently looking at banquet venue. Do you have any recommendations?or any forum/blog site which i could view at?

I have recently signed up a bridal package with Feline Bridal during the Her World Bridal Show in Jan 07. I wonder if there is any Feline Brides in your site which could share with me their experiences.

I will be going to the bridal shop next wkend for selection of photographers as well as looking at the gowns… May I know what are the things I should take note of? Am also puzzled on what is the actual/normal payment process to the bridal shop?

Thanks and sorry to prompt you so many questions at once…

Cheers,
Shelen ”

“Hi Sheelen,

I will do my best to answer your questions.

To look for banquet venue, first you got to ask yourself what kind of ambience do you like? Or have you come across some wedding venues you have been to and you really like?

As for Feline Bridal, I’m not sure. But you can go to singaporebrides.com forum and check under feline bridal .look thru the threads and post your questions and concern.

You can also pop by their shop and ask the current customers how are their service. Something like spot check.

During selection of gown, there must be a “wow” factor when you first see yourself in the mirror. Choose one that fit your personality and preference; not the other way round.

For payment, normally is four times, one deposit when sign the package, choosing of gowns, photoshoot and collection of gowns.

Let me know if there is any more query. 🙂

Cheers.
Jhong Ren”
