Every bride and groom who have limited financial resources would need to cut corners while planning their wedding.
In fact, there are hundred and one things that you can either outsource to others or do it yourself.
Now then we know wedding planning can be outsource? Hmmmm…
Even though we wanted to fully plan our wedding by ourselves, the thing is as much as we want to, we have limited time and energy.
But again, I have seen many brides who did items by themselves.
Plus another big contributing factor to the big hole in your purse or pocket is the ability to be frugal, decisive and able to bargain.
Usually after the wedding, the couples would have used up all their savings or even in debt!!!
Many brides in fact take the 1st offer for wedding packages and bridal studio offers.
If they have read this book, they may do otherwise.

Local pastries are not really fantastic.
How many types of wedding pastries have you seen during wedding lunch?
Normally, pastries are only offered during buffet lunch.
In Singapore, we normally have wedding dinner and it is a sit-down dinner which serves main courses.
Back to pastries, in fact, there are very limited choices we can choose from. We call them finger food.
Wherever we attend wedding lunch, we see similar food…spring rolls, kuehs, otahs and so on…
(Of course if budget allows, you can order high tea for your buffet. Then, the caterer may consider bringing in better pastries that suit your budget.)
There are some shops that specialise in customising cake designs…

from tiramisutra.comI’m looking for more unique savories that don’t just appeal to our taste buds but also the colors of the table decors.
Wedding should be a colorful event..an exciting transition for the bride and the groom…
Wedding should be filled with as much color as possible…not just colored by the laughters and well-wishes of friends and relatives…but also decor items we can see…
I’m wondering have you come across cakes that you can bear to eat them but to bring them home as a collectible…

I’m not really sure about how other men feel,
but one big worry for men is whether he can bring the bread and butter home every day.
(This money problem will only go away if money grow on trees.)

There is alot of times when I look around me…some of my friends who managed to get high-paid jobs can manage to leave the problem of financial insecurity aside.
For me, I don’t think I can.
My pay is not of high range and when I work out my expenditure for every month, it leaves very little for savings.
Some of my mentors told me that a man can never really be financially free if he works for others.
I take their words for it as they are making tens of thousands per week!!!

I have asked my friend who wanted to make her wedding into a special one.
She wants to DIY her wedding invitation cards.
As much as she wanted to, she has no time. She had to work from morning to night and by the time, she reaches home, she is totally exhausted.
But she still wanted to. But she is not doing anything about. Work and wedding planning had sapped almost all her energy away.
How many of us were like her when we were planning our wedding?
Wanting to do alot but having little energy and time, there is little we can do.
In fact, the very common items we can DIY are wedding inivtation cards, wedding corsages, wedding favors.
The list can go on. You can eevn sew your own wedding gown if you want to. Some brides even ask their friends to help decorate the wedding dinner venue, bringing in their flower stands with fresh flowers.
I guess wedding should be as simple as possible. Less to coordinate even though there are endless stuff to finalise.
I remembered I had another friend who DIY her wedding invitation cards?but she printed from her home printer and folded them into a card.
Some wedding couples treated their cards like a unique art-work and every card is different.
Below are some cards you may want to start off with.

Personally I feel that wedding is once a life-time thing and if we want to plan it, we put in our best.
Ideally, we would like to get whatever we want. However, there is always the constraint of budget.
I was looking through my folders in my desktop and happened to find some wedding favors’ photos that I have downloaded in the past from singaporebrides.com forum
This lady was very creative and she did her own wedding favors.
She posted these photos in the forum to share with other members like me.
