Why does some brides run away from wedding?

Hmmm…I really wonder why…

Could it be because that the bride is unsure of her commitment?

or his commitment?

or everything about the wedding?

What about runaway mothers and fathers?

Never heard of that…did you?

Many parents have in fact run away from their families.

Why do they need to?

Thought they made a wedding vow…

They should be running towards their families, embracing their children and planting kisses on each other’s cheeks.

I’m not sure how many of you who are reading this post now has lost daddy or mommy.

Planning wedding is a stressful period of time.

If you are planning your wedding now, I’m sure you may agree with me to a certain extent.

There could be may sources of stresses.

For me, money is definitely one great stressor.

Unless someone is sponsoring my wedding, money is always an issue and still is now.

Next stressor could be from mother-in-law…Haha…many married men will raise up both hands and legs to agree with me.

There is one person who men can never offend…and you know who I am referring to.

There are many instances I disgree with what my mother-in-law said…but it is forever so hard to say “No, I disagree.”

You try doing that and your married life will never be a peaceful one.

There are always topics for disagreement…Family practices…furniture design…bridal gown designs…wedding photos…

You name it…I can say “You got it.”

I think such challenges are normal for many married couples.

I just had a call from a friend who said that she just couldn’t stand her mother-in-law. The on-going battle had been going on for a few years.

Choosing a ?good? makeup artist:

– Someone who understands your style/ character to cater a look for you. However note that usually brides? makeup (in white gown) is rather angelic. Unless you ask for something different.

– Arrange for someone who is reliable (say is he/ she does freelance) because you do not want him/her to be late for makeup on your wedding day!

– Usually wedding studio has packages that comes with makeup. You can do a trial with them and see if you like it. For freelance artist there might be a nominal charge, however it still comes up to abt the same price as the studio makeup artist. Give yourself more options?

Having anyone reliable on your wedding day is a MUST! You need reliable bridesmaids who are systematic planners and can help you to take care of matters if things didn’t turn well.

Having a bridesmaid that can do make-up is important too because she needs to help your do touching up now and then throughout the whole day.

We paid the same Makeup artist from the Bridal Studio S$50 to help my mother-in-law to makeup.

During the process of gown selection, there will be many times when we weren’t sure if the decision we made are the right ones.

Is the gown what we wanted?

Is the gown what people around us want to see us in?

Is it just because the gown looks pretty on the outside?

I feel there are alot of times that if we are not careful, our wedding is planned in the way how others want.

For example, I remembered one of our close friends who was one of the bridesmaids wanted a color theme for bridesmaids’ dresses. What she wanted is not what my wife wanted.

In the end, she didn’t get to be the bridesmaids because she chose not to come for the wedding. 😕

Before that, my wife was really struggling and weighing the importance of making her own decision for her big day and entrusting her best friend to help.

What if my wife had followed her friend’s decision and let her decide what the bridesmaids should wear?

My guess is we may now regret because it was not we wanted.

Perhaps, if her friend could have calmly discussed with my wife and convinced us that her decision was the best. Maybe things won’t have turned out to be so bad?

About wedding gowns, sometimes asking too many friends along may be a headache as there can be too many opinions and comments going on at the same time.

Feedbacks are good only the bride knows exactly what she wanted.
