1 True Story All Men Need to Know about Women Giving Birth

Having posted this short video of baby Shun, I have decided to quote the story of my cousin who had just given birth to my nephew. She narrated about her labour story that no book out there can exactly tell you what happened in the hosiptal, moments before the delivery.

If you are planning to have a baby, you got to read this to better understand what labour is.
If you are the husband, read this and know how great all mothers are.

24 June (Sun):

5am
I felt some diarrhea like pains in the early morning. Told my husband about it but brushed it off since it was bearable. Went back to sleep with the pains coming on and off.

9am
Felt the pains coming in more frequent coming once every 10-15mins. Wondered whether it was due to the sushi I ate for dinner on Sat night. Brushed the pain off again since due date is 2 weeks later. Husband started to get nervous and kept asking whether he should call the hospital. I continued to sleep while he start to pack in case I needed to be hospitalized.

11am
Woke up and ate breakfast. Felt the pains coming once every 7-8mins. Decided to call the hospital at 1130am.

12:20pm
Doc said I was already 7cm dilated! I couldn`t believe it and felt excited about baby arriving soon.

1:00pm
Changed into hospital gown and strapped on to CTG machine for 30mins. Husband proceeded with the admission procedures.

2:00pm
Transferred to another room to wait for full dilation. Lunch was served.
Drank a bottle of chicken essence to replenish energy.

3:00pm
Nurse came in at regular intervals to monitor baby`s heartbeat and my contractions.

7 Ways Not to Offend Your Mother-In-Law

As Featured On Ezine Articles

Who knows how to be the most ideal son-in-law?

Do you?

mother in law

This is a tough question to be answered. I’m sure some of you will be thinking of how on earth can this impossible task be accomplished.

I have heard of mother-in-laws swearing at their son-in-laws for not being filial. And for the minority of you, I’m sure you are very well-loved by your mothe-in-laws.

No, it is not because you are extra handsome or charismatic such that you are well-loved by your mother-in-laws.

It is most probably you have done something really different from others and in fact, special such that your mother-in-laws love you so much, sometimes more than their daughters.

7 Ways Not to Offend Your Mother-In-Law

1. Respect your mother-in-law
Respect her just like how you would treat your own mother. And treat her in a very polite, courteous and respectful manner.

In fact, this is a simple rule which all of us like. We love to be treated in the right manner. All of us feel good when we are well-treated.

2. Bring her out once in a while
Some of you may be saying “What?!! You must be crazy to even think about this?”

I think this is a really tough task for some of you. When you bring your mother-in-law out for a meal or shopping, there are only two of you. You may have to talk to her face-to-face for the next 3 to 5 hours or so. And this can be worse than having the worst nightmare you can get.

Going out with her can allow you to spend some personal time to know your mother-in-law well. And do remember to pay for her meals too.

Have You & Your Spouse Done Your Body Check-Up?

Health is the essence of a healthy marriage be it spiritaully or physically.

health family

There is only one health and once it is lost, it never come back. There will be times it will but the person will have to go through a very hard time, sometimes even painful.

When we are unwell, we can’t possibly do the many things we want. When we are healthy, we may more probably be taking our healthy boides for granted.

How many times have we reminded ourselves to exercise? Many times perhaps.

And how many times did we actually followed our exercise routine? For those of you who said “yes”, I would like to congratulate you. However for those who said “no” just like me, it is neevr too late to start right now.

I remembered a friend mentioned to me that she was unwell even though she is still young. She spent a year in recovering and her body was very frail then. It was just nightmare in reality. She almost thought that she could have died any time.

Such incidents are common in our world especially we have to work so hard, not for ourselves, but for the companies we are working for. Some work nine hours a day whereas others work 20 hours a day.

Some can rest on weekends but others have to work 365 days in a year with no break.

There may be difference in the salary. Some directors earning big bucks may defend that if he works hard now, he can retire early. This is based on the assumption he still has his health by then.

My father worked very hard too. He works from day to evening and guided me in my schoolwork after dinner. And after I slept at eleven, he resumed his accounting work till 3am just to earn more money for his family. However, he passed away due to poor health many years ago.

In Hong Kong and Japan, I had read news about white-collar workers who literally work to death. They didn’t know they overwork. Some just collapsed and died.
