My Cousin’s Wedding Part 4 – The Groom’s Gatecrash & Wedding Games

wedding door games

After having lots of fun at my cousin’s hens’ parties, the bridesmaids still had lots of fun carrying out the wedding games that they had prepared earlier on.

The inital scheduled timing for the groom to reached was at 7am. However, they didn’t reach till 7.15am. It was expected.

I did the same for my wedding. My brothers and I loitered at the void deck for 10 minutes before calling the bridesmaids that we had reached.

It was common sense to do it for most weddings. Most grooms would choose to be late rather than on time to give as little time for the wedding games as possible.

Even married couples had advised us to do that. So it was not unusual that the groom was late for my cousin’s wedding.

Back at my cousin’s home, the groom called only after 7 or I think it was the other way. The bride called the groom to ask him where he was.

She told the bridesmaids that the groom’s party was late and the bridesmaids added more weird stuff for them as a form of punishment.

Finally soon after, the groom arrived with his gung-ho brothers and he had to read out the rules to the games. (I posted some of the rules in the “wedding games” post)

I was stuck outside the door with the groomsmen as I had to take picture when the groom got off his bridal car.

2 Incredilble Weddings in A Roll

I had 2 incredible weddings in a roll for the past two days.

One of them was my neighbour’s and the other was my beloved cousin’s.

It was fun and very tiring in fact as I had to work in the morning till evening and had to rush home to get myself prepared for the wedding dinner on last Saturday. I only managed to catch a 45 minutes nap.

Somehow, I have yet to recover from the oversea travelling fatigue and I am still really tired, physically and emotionally.

I just feel drained.

However, I still dragged myself to attend both weddings as both were relaly significant for me.

Let me tell you more about the first wedding – my neighbour’s.

The bridal car with its envoy of the brother’s cars came at about 7am. The loud series of horn blasts woke the whole neighbourhood up. The horn was to signify the coming of the groom to fetch the bride and it somehow started the day with a “bang!”

The wedding games by the bridesmaids were simpler compared to mine. They just had a game of passing the rubber using straws and had to be done using the groomsmen’s mouths, guessing from a paper of full of kisses and signatures which of those belong to his wife.

Later, was the declaration of love by the groom and he had to read a signed contract done by the bride.

Some of the non-negotiable terms are:

7 Wedding Games To Make the Groom Blush

According to ancient time, wedding door game implies that the bride is a lovely girl and her family and friends do not want to marry her away. The groom will be blocked at the bride’s door, and her friends will try to stop him from entering by asking questions about the bride, a way to test if he really cares about her.

They may also do other tricks to delay the bride’s leaving. The groom will try to buy his way in by presenting “Li Shi”, token money wrapped in red envelops. The entire “bargain” process is joyous and good-natured.

I think I shouldn’t bored you with too much theory or history. Let’s get down to the most fun thing which is coming up with wedding games to.

In Singapore where is dominated by the Chinese community, we play wedding games both in the morning and at night.

In the morning, wedding games are played so that the groom will have a hard time getting to the bride.

At night during the wedding dinner, wedding games are played so that there will be entertainment for the guests. Ha…in addition, the main reason is because the wedding couples are the main stars for the night and friends will bound to want to have some fun during this special occassion.

Below are 7 wedding games you can use if you are given the special tasks to plan wedding games for the wedding couple.

7 Wedding Games To Make the Groom Blush:

1. Getting Groom to Pose Like a Model in the Bride’s undergarments and dress

At my cousin’s wedding this year, her bridesmaids cut out sexily and scantily dressed models’ pictures and the groom had to pose like the models. And of course, there were some dresses and undergarments belonging to my cousin and the groom has to wear them before he posed.

We had a great time laughing and at the expense of the face of the groom.

2. Tying Banana to the Groom’s Groin Area

This is a real example that my wife told me. In fact, our photographer shown her the video of the torturing of the groom who was one of his customers. The bridesmaids tied a banana pointing up at the groin area of the groom. And it was not the groomsmen who ate it but the bridesmaids. Hmmm…I wonder whose idea it was.

3. Eating off the chest
