Some engaged couples don’t want to have a traditional wedding; they want something a little different. Perhaps you don’t like to do what everyone else is doing… or you want your wedding to reflect your unique personalities and interests. Whatever the reason, theme weddings can be as different from traditional weddings as you want, and lots of fun too!
Here are a few theme wedding ideas:
Motorcycle Wedding
Invitations should be motorcycle-related and programs can feature a picture of the happy pair on their motorcycle.
Have a Harley Davidson cake topper on your cake.
Table decorations or party favors can be temporary biker tattoos, tire gauges, toy motorcycles tied with biker ribbon, biker-shaped chocolate, etc.
Wear leather motorcycle jackets over the white dress and in place of the tux jacket.
The wedding reception can be at your favorite biker bar.
The food can be more casual.
Leave the wedding or reception on a motorcycle – complete with a tin can train.
If you’re getting married in Las Vegas they have a total motorcycle wedding package!

We have all grown up with the wedding poem, “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” But did you know the next line is “And a silver sixpence in her shoe”? A sixpence is a British silver coin minted from 1551 to 1967.
All these items – old, new, borrowed, blue and a sixpence are supposed to be tokens of good luck for a happy marriage. And knowing that, don’t you want to follow this nice tradition and enhance your own wedded “luck”?
Old
Something old has to do with the bride’s family continuing on and on; from the past and present into the future. It can also mean you are leaving your old life and joining your husband in a new life together.
* A lace handkerchief from your grandmother that you can carry tucked in with your bouquet up the aisle. It will come in handy if you become joyfully teary.
* An old piece of jewelry from your mother or grandmother. For example, you could wear an old wedding band on your other hand, or wear her brooch.
* Use your parent’s cake topper on your wedding cake.
* Wear your mother’s wedding dress or veil.

Commonly the Mother of the Groom is unsure what role she plays in the wedding of her son. Traditionally, there are several responsibilities you, as the Mother of the Groom, can fulfill and become an important part of the preliminary wedding preparations.
* Your first responsibility is to contact the bride’s family and introduce yourself to them, if you don’t already know them. This doesn’t have to be formal. Just a happy phone call will suffice. A dinner invitation at your home or one at a nice restaurant will be a welcome gesture of friendship.
* If the bride’s parents live far away, making a dinner invitation impractical, some photos of the groom during parts of his life would be a nice gift to receive. Perhaps you could suggest that the bride’s mother exchange a few photos of her daughter’s life with you.
