Wedding Dance

As Featured On Ezine Articles

Wedding Dance is uncommon in my country.

Normally, we call it march in. I feel wedding can be a very special one when the wedding couple dances into the ballroom rather than the normal march in.

My cousin had his wedding and surprisingly, there was this segment when he danced with his bride.

The dance served as an entertainment for us too.

Soon after, other guests joined them and we had our first dance too. The aisle was packed with dancing couples.

Even my aunties and uncles who are already in their sixties joined in too.

Rather an amazing sight to see. One of the very few in Singapore’s wedding indeed.

If you are planning your wedding and have a special piece of music for your all important first dance, you may want to sign up your very first wedding dance lesson in a dance studio.

Through a course of private lessons, the dance teacher may be able to customise the dance lesson for you.

As you know, we all have different calibre. For me, I’m sure I’m not a good dancer because I can’t coordinate the dancing steps well.

However, it is always worth a try.

At the dance studio, the experienced teachers can choreograph an individual dance to fit your music perfectly.

There are different type of wedding dances:
1. traditional Waltz,
2. sexy Argentine Tango
3. passionate Rumba

Wedding Gowns…how did you choose yours?

As Featured On Ezine Articles

There is a very wide range of wedding and evening gowns offered by Bridal Studios.

Brides to be are spoilt for choice of what to wear and choose.

There are many times that brides get really overwhelmed by the number of gowns they have to choose.

1 wedding gown, 1 evening gown, 1 tea-dress, 1 Chinese Kua are the norms of an ordinary pakage.

However, for brides who can afford to pay more, they may have up to 2 or even 4 wedding gowns and 3 evening gowns.

Some brides even order gowns from overseas and arranged to be delivered to Singapore.

I remembered I have one friend of mine is really rich and she could afford to get different items such as her shoes, gowns from European countries. These items were to be air-flown to Singapore.

Wow!!!

Yes! Wedding is one in a life-time big event of one’s life. But it is just the beginning and for those brides who want more than what their budget allows, it is a wise decision to sit down and plan through how much they can spend on their gowns.

There are many times that an unwise decision was made in the spur of moment to get the gowns that they wanted to wear, and at the same time, they have blown their budgets.

So, one advice for ladies, as well as men out there, do include budgeting in the wedding planning and learn to do it together as it could benefit them by setting a foundation for them to learn to budget after their wedding…

and it is still a long long way to go…

Wedding DIY Wedding Favors

Personally I feel that wedding is once a life-time thing and if we want to plan it, we put in our best.

Ideally, we would like to get whatever we want. However, there is always the constraint of budget.

I was looking through my folders in my desktop and happened to find some wedding favors’ photos that I have downloaded in the past from singaporebrides.com forum

This lady was very creative and she did her own wedding favors.

She posted these photos in the forum to share with other members like me.

Wedding DIY Placecards

As Featured On Ezine Articles

I have some emails from brides who grumbled over how much money they have to spent on their wedding.

In fact, there are some items which we could do it ourselves.

If our designs are nice and unique, we can even sell them to friends who have money to spare but no time.

These few posts will be for those of you who want to DIY or you may want to make them to sell.

But be prepared, DIY needs time, effort, patience and creativity.

If your designs are common and dull, customers can get from any where.

Looking at the websites of some brides, there are in fact brides who are entrepreneurial and they sell their wedding ideas to other brides.

They have so many ideas and the key difference is they allow customisation.

For a start, I would like to post on placecards.

Many times our placecards come together with the wedding dinner package.

Most of them look plain and simple.

Whichever wedding dinner we go to, all the placecards look the same and boring.

Wedding Snapshot 20: After Wedding Speech…till Saying Good-bye

Though three months had passed, every image during the wedding day stays vivid in my mind.

It was as if it had just happened…a short moments ago…

The wedding speech that I had was from the bottom of my heart.

My cousin mentioned to me she almost teared.

I felt anxious on the stage…and very nervous. But I knew I could only do it once…and I must do it well…

The wedding speech was followed by a short video-clip…a presentation with a thank-you note to all our friends, relatives and families.

It lasted for about 3 minutes and it was followed by table-to-table toasting…

It was a fun and tiring night.

Finally, we had to wait at the exit to thank our guests for taking their time off to come to our wedding dinner.

Sentosa Beaufort…a wedding I attended in March

I attended a wedding at Sentosa Beaufort.

It was a wedding dinner and the ambience around the hotel was fantastic. Remember I am only mentioning only outside is fantastic and I will tell you why….soon

It was no doubt one of the very few hotels which can give you a nature view by the golf park and the sea. It was serene and tranquil.

The reception was enjoyable and pleasant.

Transport could be taken from Paragon in Orchard or from Vivocity. But the buses were only available every hourly.

The bus ride was smooth and fast and we reached the hotel from Paragon in about 20 minutes or so.

The scenic view outside the hotel raise my expectation of what would be happening inside the function room.

I was very disappointed. I thought my experience with my hotel was bad enough…

The romantic ambience was not there and the light were on to the brightest. Hey…we could all see the guests VERY clearly even though they were a few tables away.

The lights were like spotlights!

The service? I could only give a “below average”.

Despite one waiter or waitress attending to two tables, the attitude of them were poor. They stood them and gave me the feeling we were invisible.

My aunty waved at this waitress about 8 times before she could see us. She was facing us and so I believed she was day-dreaming.

Normally, the waiters will be kind enough to say “excuse me” if they need more space beside you to reach to serve from the dish in the center of the table.

My Wedding Speeh…a glimpse at it…

How I started off…

“Thank you speech:

Thank you very much to our relatives, friends and colleagues for sharing with me this joyous occasion. One of the principles that I hold on strongly to is: when I drink the water from the well, I must remember the source of the water.

If without the different guidance and support given by everyone of you here, I won’t be who I am today.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to my mother especially, my relatives, friends and colleagues for helping me in any way in my journey from childhood till now.”

To mommy:
Thank you very much for raising me up single-handedly. Father has built my foundation and mother has carry on where he left off. I know it is very tough for you to manage the house alone, plus to raise me up into a healthy adult and to educate me and see me through university days. And thank you for helping me in preparing this wedding too.

To relatives:
Despite I am the only child, I have sisters who adore me.
Despite the absence of my father, I have uncles who treated me like their sons.
Of course, not forgetting the aunties who protect me and take good care of me.

To friends:
Thank you for being there for me when I need you. Thank you for being so supportive. Thank you for providing a shoulder to cry on, to confide in, to learn from.
