Wedding Snapshots 16: At Hotel…just before Night Falls

We reached Holiday Inn Park View at about 4pm. It was rather hectic and we only managed to catch a quick nap.

While we were resting, our helpers were busy preparing for the wedding dinner.

They were testing out their cameras, the videos and do a final check of the things to do.

Very soon, all assembled at the ballroom to the necessary arrangements.

As for both me and my bride, we were up there preparing. Our hearts were racing at the same time…could hardly breathe

We soon found ourselves at the door…just before our first march-in

Hi Valerie,

I can sense that you have many questions to ask. Lets me answer you one by one.

This is the link to my wedding pictures…”My Wedding Snapshots” (You may want to view each post separately as the simultaneous running of all slideshows may slow down your computer.)

As for Holiday Inn Park View, you can download 2006 packages from here.

Easy to negoitiate perks or not…hmmm…you can read these few posts and then you decide for yourself. The BIG Surprise HIPV gave us, How we squeezed HIPV dry

As for Seletar Broadway, you can click here to see our wedding photos .

The service is generally fine (not sure is it because they know that the boss knows me.) Overall, their service is prompt and they call everytime one day before the appointment. As for my photographer.

This was what happened during our phootshot at Seletar Broadway.

As for my Actual Day Photographer, he is Ant and you can see his website www.antevy.com (He left “Let There Be Light and set up “Ant Evy”.)

My only comment for him is “under promise; over deliver” >.<

You can read more about him here Post 1, Post 2 & Post 3.

Wedding Snapshot 16: Tea-ceremony at Bride’s home

While in the bridal car, we closed our tired eyes and rested.

It had been a tiring day since morning. Another tea-ceremony to go. When we reached bride’s home, the tea was not ready yet. So we waited. Friends and relatives made use of this free time to take photos with us.

After 15 minutes had passed, the tea and the tea-set were ready. We got into position for another cycle of serving tea to relatives and seniors.

It lasted for another 20 mins and we finally sat down on the sofa and heaved a sigh of relief. Half day had passed. Another busy night to go through together. >.<

Wedding Snapshots 15: After tea-ceremony…changed to Kua

Tea-ceremony was a quick one. It lasted only 15 - 25 minutes for so many relatives.

After which, I had to take off the hair pins of the bride’s hair and did it really very slowly so that my photographer could take good photos.

The bride now had to change into Chinese kua and we went back to her home.

At this point in time, a few friends of ours took our bridal attires to the hotel and helped us to check-in. Yeah! Almost half of the day had gone past and I could feel the tiredness slowly seeping through my bone…

Alright! Today was our happy day!!! Let’s move on to the other end of Singapore!!!

Wedding Snapshots 14: Back for tea-ceremony at groom’s house

When we left the bride’s home, we headed straight back to our home.

The weather during my wedding was nice and warm. The sun wasn’t very hot and luckily it didn’t rain. Can you imagine the inconvenience we may have if it poured?

When we reached home, all my relatives were here. We were very excited and delighted.

Time for tea-ceremony. Everyone got into position…my aunties prepared the tea-cups set and arranged two chairs side by side.

As each cup of tea was served, my cousin was saying nice words…he sounded like the Master of Ceremony for tea-ceremony. :p

Though we had to serve tea to at least 30 relatives, the tea-ceremony lasted for just 15 minutes or so.

Happy times passed very quickly!

Wedding Snapshot 13: Kissing the Bride

Finally, I have managed to get into the room smoothly and saw my beautiful bride for the first time on wedding day.

My bride is really very pretty and beautiful. She is my angel.

>.<

I gave her the wedding gift. And for a moment, I was also quite clueless of what to do next after I got through the multiple hurdles before entering.

Cameras were snapping away as I kissed the bride.

Finally, I can bring her home. :D

Wedding Snapshots 12: In bride’s house, the groom is finally in…

There seemed to be endless number of pictures to show.

The whole process of wedding was long, tiring but enjoyable. A once-in-a-lifetime event that at this point in time, still stayed vividly in my mind.

My brothers ate sugar cane, chilli padi, chocolate…and many more…so that I could get into the house.

In Singapore, why is it that we have so many rooms beyond the main door?

After clearing the first obstacle, which was the main door, I still had to overcome a few more before finally I could see the bride.

The games were pole-dancing 2 times around one of my brothers, singing a song and reading a list of rules after marriage in Cantonese.

Okie…finally the last ang pow was slotted into the room under the door…hope by this time, the door would open…>.<
