I remember the wedding games for me during my wedding. There were different types of food that resembles the 4 aspects of a marriage life - sourness, sweetness, bitterness and spiciness.
I remembered my wife’s bridesmaids prepared a breakfast for me and my groomsmen - sugarcane, dark chocolate, lime and small chili. It was really a memorable breakfast for us.
As much as we dislike the games we had, we still had to go through time, especially for me. I even remembered pole-dancing and one of my groomsmen acted as a pole.
How embarrasing! It was funny when I look back now.
My cousin’s fiance was not that lucky and so were the groomsmen who tagged along.
Last Sunday was her wedding and I reached her house at 6.30am.
Her sisters (bridesmaids) were already there preparing breakfast for the groom and his envoy.
Let me tell you the menu for each person:
1. One cup of lychee drink mixed with concentrated lime juice
2. One hamburger with chilli padi mixed with microwaved crickets and maggots
3. One slice of lime

Yesterday, I did blogged about the importance of having Gung-Ho brothers.
Why do you need Gung-Ho brothers?
1. Gung-ho brothers can help groom to overcome obstacles.
2. They can confront the bridesmaids in a pleasant manner.
3. They are in a calmer state to think of ideas to counter the games.
4. Best of friends are very good support in such times.
In a typical Chinese wedding day, the groom will pick the bride up at a stipulated time which is deemed as an auspicious timing.
Just when the groom reached the bride’s home, the driver will sound 3 loud horns to announce their arrivals.
To enter the house to fetch the bride, the groom will have to go though many obstacles in the form of wedding games to show his sincerity and determination to marry his bride.
This could be the most stressful period for the groom when all attention was on him and he had to overcome so many weird games on the spot.
It can be very traumatising for the groom.
I remembered when I had to go through the wedding games, the bridesmaids shut the door and wanted me to shout into the house through into another room. Luckily, I had a strong team of 9 brothers and our voices rocked the whole floor.
Yesterday, I took the stand as an on-looker, looking at how the groom was tortured without his brothers helping him.

Though three months had passed, every image during the wedding day stays vivid in my mind.
It was as if it had just happened…a short moments ago…
The wedding speech that I had was from the bottom of my heart.
My cousin mentioned to me she almost teared.
I felt anxious on the stage…and very nervous. But I knew I could only do it once…and I must do it well…
The wedding speech was followed by a short video-clip…a presentation with a thank-you note to all our friends, relatives and families.
It lasted for about 3 minutes and it was followed by table-to-table toasting…
It was a fun and tiring night.
Finally, we had to wait at the exit to thank our guests for taking their time off to come to our wedding dinner.

3 months had passed and as I was looking through the wedding photos…every image flashed across my mind as if it was yesterday…
Firstly we had the cake-cutting. It was actually a fake cake with a slit for the knife to enter…
Secondly, it was champagne pouring and toasting. You see my friend Siquan? He was a very enthusiastic person and he was my primary school mate. Wedding to me was not just the most wonderful occasion to my life, but it was a day when we get to enjoyed it with our close friends.
Initally, when the MCs asked for friends and relatives to come up onto the stage for a toast, some of my friends were shy initially. But eventually the crowd on the stage got bigger and bigger and it was getting noisier and more exciting!!!
Soon, after the three “yam-sengs”, it was my turn for my wedding speech. I was really nervous!!! So many people looking at me.
What motivates me was that these audience of mine are people who I knew and who love me…>.<

Our second march-in was just before the 5th dish. We were given half-an-hour to change once after 2nd dish.
Hmmm…going up to the room was a break for us from all the attention we were getting. >.< Yeah!
In the room, the coordinator called up to our room just to check if we were ready. Actually, we wanted to rest longer but it was getting late. By the time we reached the ballroom, it was already 9.30pm.
Though it was the second march-in, our hearts were still thumping!!! Soon the door opened and it was our show again. >.<
