Bridesmaids Dresses
from sherlock88

Wedding is an occasion that makes you enjoy while it is an occasion for your bridesmaid to work for the whole day to make the wedding special. They are definitely the persons to help you conduct your wedding in a smooth way and you have to take more care when you are choosing a dress for them. Many brides feel that it is their wedding and they are allowed to choose any dress they want for their bridesmaid. But this is absolutely ridiculous.

They are your friends giving their hands for your wedding and you have to make them feel comfortable. For choosing bridesmaid dresses, you have to take as much care as you take for your wedding gown. Follow the following tips to choose the best dress for your bridesmaids.

1. For any purchase, budget is very important. You have to decide how much money you can afford and then search for the item you are looking for. The cost of the bridesmaid dress depends on how many bridesmaids you have. If you have a lot of friends, then you may have two or more bridesmaids. Buying an expensive dress for all of them is definitely not affordable. You can choose to have a single bridesmaid and spend your bridesmaid’s budget exclusively for her alone.

I have a wedding-related email enquiry on what kind of bridesmaids dresses to wear.

This lady is about 1.57cm tall with fair/ yellowish skin tone with a weight of between 45 to 50kg.

Her sister-in-law is going to wear a turquoise evening dress and this reader is quite confused about what to wear during the wedding dinner.

I supposed this type of confusion is common among the many bridesmaids who are helping out. There are some who want to have a share of the limelight while others just want to help out.

I have come across bridesmaids who want to manipulate what to be worn on the wedding night. However, such cases are rare.

I went to Google search “turquoise wedding gown” and I have found some wedding photos. I am trying to understand how does one look like so that I can be clearer in what my reader wants.

So, these are the wedding gowns’ photos I found.

Wedding Taboos Part 4: Is this your 3rd time being bridesmaid?

As Featured On Ezine Articles

bridesmaids helping bride

Some ladies jump at every opportunity to be bridesmaids. Some need to carefully think about it for some time before they commit to the task.

Here, we are seeing 2 different types of bridesmaids.

From experience, we were lucky that my wife’s bridesmaids were very committed and responsible. Part of the smooth running of our wedding was because the bridesmaids ensured that the wedding day schedule was followed closely.

Even, some male friends were asked to be “bridesmaids” and they were very helpful in being drivers as well as helpers in other aspects.

For the first type of bridesmaids who always self-nominate themselves, it is quite pssoibly some may want to use such opportunity to flaunt themselves and even over-shadow the brides.

Thus, there is a taboo being created to restrain wannabe brides: the bridesmaids must not be more beuatiful than the bride.

However, this is not to mean in physical aspect but it actually meant that the bridesmaids must try not to have too heavy make-up or to wear too revealing clothes.

How Helpful are these Wedding Helpers?

I just came back from my cousin’s wedding.

In Singapore, we do have two parts to our wedding day.

According to the Chinese wedding customs, this is what will happen in a wedding day.

In the morning, we have the groom coming to the bride’s home to fetch her. There will be tea-ceremony.

In the afternoon, they will return to the groom’s house. There will be another tea-ceremony.

At night, we have our wedding dinner in a hotel ballroom or a restaurant.

There are times in the afternoon that some wedding couples chose to go through the solemnisation in a church.

It again differs for different religion.

Back to my cousin’s wedding, in the morning at 9.40am, the groom came with his brothers. If I were to give them a rating upon 10 for their brotherhood, I can only give 4.5

Why this poor rating?

The brothers played him out.

Normally, the bridesmaids will play some games to test the sincerity of the groom just before he is allowed to enter the door. He was asked for to perform. Out of 5 brothers, only two went along with the flow and danced with the groom. The other 3 just hid at a corner enjoying the show.

Upon entering the house, the groom was required to eat chilli, lemon, sugar and bittergourd which resembled the 4 aspects of marriage life (spiciness, bitterness, sourness and sweetness)

In fact my cousin (who was the bride) told me just before the groom came, that the groom will be “Dead” for sure. She had called him earlier to remind him NOT to get helpers who can drink.

He must get those who can help him and overcome obstacles for him in the games session.

Whatever the bride said fell on deaf ears.

Back to what had happened earlier on, only the groom ate everything even though the bridesmaids kept on mentioning that the other brothers could help too. I realised the brothers just laughed behind him. Some even shun away and hid behind the crowd of relatives and friends, hoping no one will see him.

I’m sure the groom was really disappointed.

Even the mother-in-law came forward to tell the groom to get help from others.

Hmmm, nothing happened.

And came the part, the bridesmaids prepared dresses, bras and skilrts for the groom and his friends.

They were shown some sexy advertisment in a fashion magazine and they were to dress themselves up and posed as sexily as possible, just like what they saw in the ads.

It took them five minutes or so for them to even say, “ok, let me help.”

The groom was blushing furiously with his face all red though he was really tanned.

Bridesmaids…a central of attention

As Featured On Ezine Articles

Wedding itself is not just whereby the bride completely steals the limelight.

There are some instances when bridesmaids took all the attention from the guests.

I think some brides are very kind such that they want to give the bridesmaids the best gowns.

They are careful with the dos and don’ts so as not to hurt the feelings of their friends.

There are other times that the bridesmaids know their boundary and try not to be “prettier” than the brides. But sometimes, it does happen as some bridesmaids are naturally prettier than the bride, eevn if they put on simple make-up.

Even if so the bridesmaids naturally look more beautiful than the brides, some bridesmaids try not to stand too close to the brides so as not to compete attention.

Hmmm…then that defeats the purpose of having bridesmaids then.

Photographers also like the opportunity to take photos of pretty girls hanging around the wedding function.

They make excellent subject for photography.

Have you ever seen a photographer who only capture shots of brides?

Nope, I don’t think so. Photographers are always on the move for interesting and pretty subjects, and one of them is the bridesmaids.

Actually, here are 3 things bridesmaids can do before the wedding day:
1. Discuss what common color do they want to wear
2. Discuss the details of wedding day so as to delegate roles and responsibilities.
3. Assure the bride that she is the most beautiful lady on that day
4. Ask the bride what color is her gown.
5. Be natural and stay pretty.

Wedding Gift for Bridesmaids

To the Bride, Bridesmaids are important helpers who ensure that the Bride is relaxed and she enjoys her Big day.

Bridesmaids’ roles can be broken down into few groups.

There is a Chief Bridesmaid who oversee the schedule of the bride.

There is a Personal Assistant who assist the bride in looking in her best by touching up her make-up to running errands for her such as fetching drinks or picking up items that the bride forgot.

There are some Bridesmaids who could be male too and they are the drivers who ferry the ladies around.

Bridesmaids are selected from the category of the closest friends to the Bride. These are the best of friends who step forward to help the bride because they wanted to.

To them, it doesn’t matter if they are rewarded. They just want to do it because they are the best of pals to the Bride and they wanted the best for her.

The Bride may consider buying them presents, even though there are many cases that the Bridesmaids won’t want them.

This is an example of gift that can be given to the Bridesmaids.
