Tracy and Bob’s Disney World Wedding Intro

This wedding video was done at Shades of Green Resort in Florida.

It was really amazing to see childhood cartoon figures at your wedding. I don’t see many guests around but I could sense gleams of joy and happiness throughout the whole video.

To me, the wedding couples were just like very happy children who have seen their idol, Mickey and Minnie Mouse at their wedding.

Our Hello Kitty Wedding in Hong Kong, if there is one

I was wondering if we ever had our wedding in Hong Kong, what it would be like?

Would it be like a fairy-tale wedding which made my wife’s friend look like a Korean super star?

Would we be getting at least 4 sets of different gowns and attire?

My wife was born in Hong Kong and I’m proud of our marriage and my wife.

I think it was never easy for her to adapt to Singapore’s wedding custom and there were many times we were squeezed in between two cultures.

Cantonese are very stringent in following their wedding customs. Luckily, we were able to come to a compromise that we were to stick to Singapore’s wedding custom and if possible, give some leeways to the Hong Kong wedding customs when appropriate.

I was just thinking what if our wedding was really in Hong Kong.

How would our wedding preparation be like? Maybe our wedding photoshoots style may turn out differently, following the Hong Kong wedding photographer style.

Email from Sandra: Wedding Stressful and Overwhelming!

From Sandra:

“Hi Jhong Ren

Thanks for the reply and for your amazing blog, the information available is pretty comprehensive and useful.

I am currently at the stage of planning my wedding for next year .. toughest aspect is to decide the exact date and to agree on what exactly do we want for our wedding. My fiance is really busy and seems like I have to be the one doing most of the work … I want a simple garden wedding reception while his parents expect a grand wedding dinner with really good food and I just feel overwhelmed and unsupported with the responsibility…..currently at the stage of feeling stressed and afraid that I might become a bridezilla …

Hee .. sorry that I have to offload like that … just needed a neutral party who understands … wedding matters can plan, but relationship issues cannot plan …

Need to be reminded to keep my focus on our relationship … not let all the wedding affairs affect us … want to be there for the long haul … trying my best to keep myself at peace …”

My thoughts:

What if Bride is Harrassed by a Wedding Photographer?

sad groom and bride

I have heard of some stories of brides harrassed by wedding photographer.

My thoughts:

In fact, at this point in time I have many thoughts in my mind.

One of them is that the photographer is unethical. Even though he is the photographer and many times, he would need to help adjust the bridal gowns such that the bride will look her best, at the same time, he must take care of the welfare of the bride.

I’m not sure how to put it but I think you know what I meant.

The wedding couples (both the bride and groom) must be well taken care of such that they enjoy the whole wedding photoshoot session.

I still remember the joy as well as the discomfort we went through during our wedding photoshot.

We spent 12 hours in the bridal studio and I pity my wife for having had to endure the long hours of having her make-up and hair-do done. It was not easy. The hours were long and we were quite mentally drained out when it was about 3pm.

We had quick bite for lunch and we remembered we had to smile and pose for the photographs.

Luckily, our wedding photographer was very professional and comical at the same time.

That is why when I read the forum, I was tremendously angered by the treatment on the bride by the part-time photographer. I feel that the photographer, be it a full time or part time, has no right to be in physical contact with the bride at all times.

Even if he wants to adjust the bride’s face or gowns, he must always ask for permission from the bride. The bride is a lady after all who ought to be respected. Moreover, she is the customer.

I know, by right the bride can file a complain. However, I know there may be times the couple may find it to be quite embarrassing, especially for the bride.

It is afterall a once-a-lifetime experience and many chose to let such unpleasant experience to pass and move on.

I was not surprised when the other brides in the forum told her to let go of this incident and move on.

Sounds easy for them to say but I’m sure it isn’t for the bride.

This was a bad experience and would have somehow left a scar in the whole wedding planning process.

Now, the bride even has phobia when she recalled the incident.

What do you think she should do?
